Portrait Photography Session FAQs
How can I prepare for my session?
Once we have figured out a good date and time for our session, I’d love to meet with you virtually so we can chat about your vision and so you can communicate your needs. Since each session comes with different preparation, I will send you specific ways to prepare.
When should I have my maternity session?
I suggest aiming for the 31-36 week range. Typically, you will be able to be more comfortable during your session and you can show off that beautiful baby bump. But of course, every pregnancy is different, so if you’d prefer earlier, we can make that happen. Please let me know if you’d like me to send you some dress recommendations for our session together.
What do I do about posing for my Portrait Session?
I will help guide you into some natural positions that will look amazing. During our preparation phase, I will plan out the vibe of the session and plan posing accordingly. Please communicate if you already have certain poses you’d like to do. I like to incorporate natural positions for family and professional photoshoots. For my creative portrait, I like to combine both natural and edgy positions to give my Clients lots of options. I also love to incorporate movement in my photographs.
If I just booked a session, what are the next steps?
Yay! We’ll schedule a time to have a virtual meeting to introduce ourselves and go over more details. I’ll get you set up with your online portal where you’ll be able to view your contract, mood board, and other important information regarding the session.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
Quality over quantity. With my expertise, I eliminate photos that may dilute the overall product. For weddings/events, I typically deliver 50-100 images per hour. For portrait sessions, all packages come with a set number of images, with the option to buy more. If requested, I will send you a Proofing Gallery for you to choose which photos you want edited for portrait sessions.
What is your editing process like?
Every photo I deliver in the final gallery is post-produced with my unique signature style of editing. I believe that a little skin retouching is okay since the camera picks up details we may not notice on the day to day. Skin retouching, and eye and teeth enhancements are included in my portrait packages. However, please let me know if you do not want these enhancements.
For product and branding sessions, every photo delivered will be post processed by hand to make sure both the product and/or model look amazing.
Video & Filmmaking FAQs
What is the process of creating a video?
Once contract is signed and retainer is paid, we will start planning every detail of your video(s). During our planning stage, I like to have 1-3 meetings to go over location, storyboard, shot-list, etc… My goal is to have everything well planned and thought out so that the film day is a smooth as possible.
After filming, I will start editing away. Once the draft is ready for review, we will have a zoom meeting to go over any revisions. Typically, 1-2 drafts are included prior to the creating of the final video.
What is your turnaround time for videos?
The turnaround time for videos will depend on the type of production. For example, music videos may take 6-8 weeks because of the type of editing style. Busy seasons may result in longer turnaround times. For shorter form videos under 1 minute, my turnaround time is 15-20 business days. I do recommend to keep this in mind when choosing our filming date. Please communicate with me if you have a specific deadline and I will try to accommodate it.
How will I be able to see the videos?
I will share the draft(s) and final video(s) via an online platform.
